The restaurant at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona is a cultural and social responsibility project initiated by both the Museum and a local cooperative. It promotes the culture of maritime gastronomy. It also provides social integration through professional catering training to local people under risk of exclusion.
Another essential feature of the project is the use of local food: From fish coming from the Boquería Marquet to the Moritz beer, closely linked to the Raval area of Barcelona.
The restaurant reflects the 13th century with gothic-style naves of the former Royal Shipyard, which nowadays shelter the museum, and a garden where you can see the replica of a wooden submarine constructed in Barcelona in 1859.
